Synopsis A sketch in anime form of the life and thinking of writer and poet Kenji (Night on the Galactic Railroad) Miyazawa. The anime director, Kawamori, strives to re-create Miyazawa's style in visual form, by showing all the characters as cats or other animals and the use of abstract sequences. The narrative shows Miyazawa arguing with his father, a pragmatic moneylender, talking with his much loved but ill sister, teaching at a village school, composing poetry in the open air, and trying to live as a farmer.

Review Miyazawa suffered the tragedy of being an artist un-recognised in his own lifetime.
This is a wonderful anime, though it might be a bit baffling for the un-prepared viewer.
