Synopsis | Comedy about a pair of policewomen in the Tokyo traffic police. They drive very fast after various delinquents in their mini patrol car or on a tiny scooter, usually to little effect! Often they are in competition with a macho motorbike cop. |
Review | The TV series seems to indulge in humour and sentiment rather than in delivering the kind of police chase action that the title suggests. There was rather more action in the OVAs, but the TV episodes have a charm of their own. The opening title sequence is excellent with attractive and quite realistic imagery, and a glimpse of the main characters parodied as rag dolls! I taped the episode "Yoriko's Day Off" in which she meets a mysterious young man, and another in which the police have to dress up as superheroes & put on a show to entertain and educate some kindergarten brats, and save them from a second group of nutters in costume with ideas of world domination...
