Synopsis | The story started almost the same as the timeline of the ST1 game, at the
military meeting of the high executives talking abut their new weapon
system 'Koubu', and Teikoku Kagekidan against Kouma. Some excectives
were suspicious about the capability of the weapon, but Count Hanakouji insisted on its
importance. Ayame-san introduced Hanagumi, then the opeining followed. -(CALCI) In the TV series, the girls form a musical comedy troupe which sets off on a nationwide tour. |
Review | Finallythe long awaited Sakura Taisen (Sakura Wars) TV has started. My first impression was 'better than I imagined from the draft of anime mags'. In the anime mag. articles It seemed that S.T. was low budget. The opening theme was, of course, Geki Teikoku Kagekidan, full orchesta version. More gorgeous than ever. Animation quailty was average, by the current standards. And Sakura was depicted as a bit more mischevous and immature than in the game setting. Yokoyama Chisa is still doing a good job. She was the subject of hostile emotion from Sumire, Iris and Maria, because of her senseless conduct. Apparently Akahori is aiming this series as Sakura's growing up story. That may be the difference from the drama making methods from the game system. I can't want to see the sequels. My overall impression of the 1st episode was B+. I hope it will become better. - (CALCI) |
