Notes | English name: Heart Beating Tonight From a manga by IKENO Koi, published in Ribbon magazine. |
Classification | shoujo |
Synopsis | A high school romance/comedy series about a girl, Ranze, with more than the "usual" teen problems - she is really from the "monster" world. Ranze's mother is a werewolf and her father is a vampire. Ranze also has "powers" - she can temporarily turn into a duplicate of whatever or whomever she bites. ( She returns to her self by sneezing. ) |
Review | I love Ranze's escapades as she chases after a handsome and athletic classmate while trying not to give herself away nor to let her parents know that she is in love with a human. Rating after 10 episodes - A (Dave Baryani)
I thought this was average material overall - little of distinction, and some of the plotting is thin even for a light comedy series. For instance, when Ranze's father is instructed to go out and find an unknown boy with a particular hidden birthmark, he finds him in the next scene. On the other hand, I found the "medical examination" scene - near the beginning of the series - extremely funny. The standard handsome but cool classmate she's crazy about and the standard rich family ojousama rival. (CSP) A lot of laughs although artwork is not the best. You will probably love the manga more, which is a much longer story. (CSP) |
