Title (English) | Magic Girl Tickle |
Title (Japanese) | Majokko Tikkuru | Advertising Fantasy Novel |
Notes | Japanese name: -o-っ子チックル English name: Magical Tickle or Tickle the Witch Girl. Said to be from a manga by Go Nagai (famous for various manga like "Devilman" containing violence, horror or sex) & published in 1977. Genre(s): comedy, fantasy, magical girl. Shoujo. |
Classification | shoujo |
Synopsis | The basic story is that a witch called Tickle, who was confined in a picture book for doing too much mischief, is released by a girl called Tiko, and Tickle decides to live Tiko's house pretending to be her twin sister.
In the anime, Tickle lives with a typical Japanese family; using magic she has made everyone think that she and the older girl are twins. Tickle usually wears red shorts and often uses magic to solve everyday problems. |
Review | The style looks quite old, but the series has a simple charm and is quite watchable even if one cannot understand a word of dialogue. Watch it for township & school life and the annoying younger sister. Sometimes Tickle seems a bit malicious. And why is the Warner Bros "Sweetie Pie" in the end credits? |
