Synopsis
Review "Yuugi-oh Dual" is a sort of sequel to at least one previous "Yuugi-oh" series that was on a couple of years ago. I saw a few episodes of that version and didn't like it at all. Now it is back and it is even less entertaining. The series is now a "battle card game" show, but like its predecessor, it has no redeeming features to make it worth while watching. Yuugi-oh is still a teen-aged treasure hunter in the new series, but now he uses magic battle cards to summon up monsters to fight other evil kids and their monster cards. I've lost track of how many card game series there are on now, but the only one I will watch is "Monkorenito" ( "Monster Collector Knights" ) because it is done as a pure farce.
(Dave Baranyi)

I found Yuugi-oh Dual Monster became much better than the 1st season. The plot was stereotypical as you say, because of the card game promotion, but once you accept the universe, I think the director did a good job. Remember that this series was designed to charm the elementary school children who are the candidate for the Yuugi-oh card game. And you never knew how the Yuugi-oh game (card and Nintendo Gameboy) are popular among kids. Enough fun to watch. Good time-waster. (CALCI)
