Classification -
Synopsis A science fiction series set in a time when space travel is commonplace. There is much criminal activity giving plenty of scope for bounty hunters. The heroes of the story are a pair of hard-up bounty hunters who have a spacecraft called the "Bebop".
Review A realistically styled science fiction series. One of the episodes I saw was not much to do with space or the future at all; as it involved the characters in chasing a genetically modified dog around the streets. There is also a rather good jazz'n' blues soundtrack.
In episode 8 the crew visit Venus. This episode is to do with a valuable plant that offers an antidote for those allergic to the terraformed Venusian atmosphere.(GC)

This is a solidly-made show, and well worth watching just for the Kanno Youko soundtrack. (P.N.)

"CB" on the other hand, is the sort of show that can easily stand repeated viewings and "all nighters". The series has a pattern to the episodes - the dramatic shows are spaced out around the "shaggy dog" episodes. This week's new episode ( not shown during the initial run last summer ) focuses upon Jeto. We get another small glimpse into his past ( and how he got his artificial left arm ). The overall tenor of this episode is quite dramatic, but there are the wonderful little "touches" that keep things in balance, such as Faye's complaint about the half broken and erratic shower. At the beginning of the show Faye insists to Jeto that he fix the shower because, "women need showers more then men", but Jeto is too busy with his bonsai. But when Jeto hears about a "link" to his past, he gets ready to go out by himself ( an un-typical move for Jeto ). As Jeto leaves, he asks Edo to water his bonsai ( not a good sign - he NEVER lets anyone else touch his bonsai ), and in the long run this does turn out to be a poor decision . The previews for the next episode indicate that it will be another new show, with Edo being the main attraction this time ( and so probably a shaggy dog story ). If the previews are telling the "whole" story ( not a good bet with CB ) "Mushroom Samba" will have Edo and Ein off to take their chances at bounty hunting.

"Cowboy Bebop" Session 10 is the second of the shows that I saw on a very fuzzy recording last summer. Seeing it again on a clear recording is a revelation ( particularly when Faye is sunbathing < big hentai smirk ). In this episode we get a small look into Jeto's past. Like the rest of the crew, Jeto has his reasons for being a bounty hunter, as well as his own set of "rules". I continue to be astounded by the amount of detail that goes into the show. I also now recognize the background music from the Yoko Kanno CDs.
