Fantasy Novel

Notes English name: Prince Section Chief or Black Heaven
Classification -
Synopsis Middle-aged salaryman Oji used to play guitar with the hevay metal rock band Black Heaven. A beautiful, mysterious woman seeks him out to tell him that only his special sound can save the galaxy from invasion. However his wife isn't amused by the intrusion of his supposed "colleague" and has thrown out all his old guitars to make room in their poky flat.
Review Very amusing series which touches on the reality of Japanese life for the not so well off, and the difficulty of being a Dad, as well as indulging in a lot of fantasy. Worth checking out, especially if you like heavy metal music.

"Kachou O-ji" continues to be a thoroughly enjoyable blend of middle-aged angst, sci-fi adventure, character-based comedy and some really good hard rock guitar playing. The show has reached somewhat of a resolution, as O-ji has brought his old band members back together, but it leaves a question of how he and they will reconcile their current "escape" back to their youth, with their current reality. This is a great show for anyone out there currently contemplating or actively involved in a "mid-life crisis". As with many of the better "adult" anime recently out on Japanese TV, "KO" mirrors the small world of the characters into a recognizable image of ourselves.
