If it becomes known that the heir is a girl, the succession wll pass to the corrupt Duke Jeralmin.
When Sapphire falls in love with the charming prince Franz Charming, she faces a terrible dilemma - duty or love. Evil forces in the kingdom try to prove she is a girl and unqualified to inherit the throne, and a wicked witch tries to steal her female persona.
Review A near-legendary shoujo series, now over thirty years old. It looks surprisingly Disney-ish, reflecting the influences of the time. It now looks as though it was made for younger children.
