Title (English) | Angie Girl |
Title (Japanese) | joho heika no petite Angie | Advertising Fantasy Novel |
Notes | English name: Her Royal Highness the Queen, Petite Ange or Charlotte Holmes, Fr.="Angie, detective en harbe". |
Classification | shoujo |
Synopsis | Set in Victorian England. Angie is the daughter of a very rich family (mansion, carriages, servants etc) and also an amateur detective. She is also an excellent rider, with her own white horse. |
Review | Asides from Angie, the main characters are a boy of the same age, who seems to be her horse's groom, a young Scotland Yard detective who is Angie's friend, and a self-important older detective, the Inspector, who is the butt of much of the series' humour. In a typical episode, Angie helps someone in trouble and/or solves a mystery. The stories aren't sophisticated, but I thought that Angie, with her blonde hair and blue eyes, is rather nice-looking. |
