Synopsis 1,000 years ago, KAI clan wielded the power with their ability of summoning GASARAKI, the legendary demons. GOWA Clan, the descendant of KAI Clan, is developping humanoid weapon called Tactical Armor to wield the power again. GOWA Yuichirou, the 4th son of GOWA Clan, has been forced to learn the Noh play of "GASARA no ONI", the ritual of summoning GASARAKI. When he plays the Noh play, he meets Miharu, another girl who also has the talent of summoning GASARAKI. (CALCI)

The biped armour suits are deployed in a conflict in a Central Asian country which is clearly modelled on Iraq, with a similar intervention going on.

Review I've seen episodes 3-6. In these there is little of the supernatural elements, but much of the deployment of the armour in a Central Asian desert country which, under the leadership of a Saddam Hussein-like disctator, is defying the West. An UN military intervention backed by America is in progress. However a private corporation is backing the Belgistan regime in order to test its biped weapons. Battle ensues. The battle scenes, action and armour deployment are very well done. Characterisation seems to take second place. A weird mixture. Good designs.(GC)

The New Show by Takahashi Ryousuke, creator/director of Votoms, Dougram, Galiant, and Layzner (he did Samurai Troopers too...) This is the first robot show he's created since Layzner back in 1985-6. Mecha designs are by Izubuchi Yutaka, who brought us the mecha in Patlabor. (PN)
