Title (Japanese) Perrine Monogatari

book cover

Fantasy Novel

Notes Creator(s): Hector Malot (En Famille)
Classification WMT
Synopsis Perrine is the daughter of a half Indian mother and a French father. She travels with her father around Bosnia, where he is a photographer. Just before dying, the latter asks his wife to go back to his natal village of Marauxcours. The trip that Perrine and her mother make in a caravan is quite painful: they lack money and have good reasons to fear the way they'll be received when they arrive.
They make ends meet with their own photography business. Perrine's mother also dies, and Perrine travels to the mansion of her rich grandfather Bilfranc. Finding that he is a cruel man, she works incognito in his string factory.
Review I haven't seen this - my excuse for listing it is that almost all the other WMT series are listed.
