Synopsis In the year 2050, the alien Godom race invade Earth. The survivors build the special aircraft carrier Blue Noah which, with its young crew led by the inventor's son, launches fighter planes to counter-attack the invaders.
The carrier has to visit other secret points to be completed (rather like a magical RPG game). At episode 21 it gets a space drive and can finally, like "Space Battleship Yamato" leave the water.

Review I only saw 5 minutes of Blue Noah, and that was by sheer chance as I was trying to sort out my digital satellite TV system in the direction of Spain. So this is not really a review. I can say that it looked like a 1970's sci-fi anime, ie dramatic and serious looking (with no big-eyed characters) and lots of hardware and lots of battle scenes.
I'm not sure if I saw the "Blue Noah" or not - there was a submarine - like vessel that might have been it. A squadron of odd-looking aircraft was attacking a submarine. The Earth is shown behnd the end credits.
It's interesting that the name "Blue Noah" also appears in "Nadia - the Secret of Blue Water". (GC)
