Synopsis Professor Saotome creates the Getter Machine series of war robots and hires the three heroes Ryoma, Musashi and Benkei to pilot them. The vehicles are aerial (Getter1), land (Getter2) and sea (Getter3) that can combine to form a giant humanoid robot - the first "transformer". They battle an empire of evil dinosaurs.

Review Apparently the original series retains some cult following, though neither it nor its sequels, which re-hash the same ground with new enemies and machines, was rated a success.
