Fantasy Novel

Notes Said to be a spin-off from "Triangle Hearts" which itself originated fro a game.
Classification shoujo
Synopsis Elementary schoolgirl Takamuchi Nanoha has a strange dream and then encounters a wounded ferret with a jewel tied around its neck. She and her friends take it to a vetinary hospital and leave it there.

During the night she senses the ferret is calling to her, dresses and runs to the hospital. And then the magical adventure begins, as the ferret teaches Nanoha how to call up a magical staff and transform herself into a magical fighter. [GC]

Review Well the suggestion that this is a spin-off from "Triangle Hearts" isn't a recommendation for me, as I found "Triangle Hearts" utterly lame.

"Nanoha" is inoffensive enough, but the character designs are rather generic and everything's just too lovey-dovey. Nanoha has very kind parents who run a cake-shop by the railway station and she has an elder brother and sister who are into martial arts and are also extremely kind. (1 episode seen). It livens up when the monster appears, but the monster doesn't look very convincing either.

Presumably the show is geared towards the usual MG target audience - 6-11 year old girls. [GC]
