Synopsis The anime has two lead girls with differing personalities: Nagisa Misumi is sporty and Honoka Yukishiro bookish, and while they attend the same school, they have very little in common. However one day, a shower of shooting stars brings two very unlikely visitors into their lives: Mippuru and Meppuru, (or Frappi & Choppi ?!)two odd little creatures from the Garden of Light, which has been conquered by Darkness. The two little creatures are threatened by a nasty green person, whom the girls eventually drive off.

Endowed with new and startling powers which they have little idea how to control, Nagisa and Honoka become Cure Black and Cure White, magical defenders of the light - together, they are Pretty Cure. The two creatures disguise themselves as a pair of cellphone-like gadgets, which are activated with a swipe card.

Review Average-looking animation and character designs, and a scenario with gadgets, transformations and "Battle of the Week" which reminds me a lot of "Sailor Moon" and its ilk. The story might be good, but on the basis of seeing one episode I don't yet see why it's so popular - but I'm not a little girl! (GC)
