Review This is a shoujo anime of a most romantic type, featuring beautiful youths, a naive girl, an experienced woman, and a period European location. Includes much overheated emotion. (GC)
This is one of the first shounen ai mangas while the anime movie itself can be considered as the mother of all yaoi animes. The manga itself is the prototype of Takemiya's venture into the genre of yaoi manga, which led to the creation of a much larger work, "Kaze to Ki no Uta", now deemed as a classic. This anime is excellent, as well as possessing important historical value. (HBV) Rating *****
