| Synopsis | Mosquiton (so I'm informed) is one of the world's original vampires, a mild-mannered creature who has been bound to serve a young woman, Inaho, through an ancient agreement with her ancestors. Apparently she wants the "O-ring" to give her eternal life, though why she doesn't just let him bite her is not clear. In the first OVA a pyramid, containing the powerful and sought-after "O-ring" (sic) appears in London, and the principal characters fly there to investigate. Evil clones of famous people of the past have appeared. The OVA series is set in the 1920's, and the main characters have a clock-shop in Shanghai. |
| Review | I was initially unimpressed, but I liked this more when I re-encountered it being broadcast on MTV. A lively red-haired heroine, slapstick action, mild nudity and bright animation colours made this a pleasure to watch for free. The ending didn't make a lot of sense, though. The OVA animation is excellent, with detailed artwork, the heroine is attractive and the colours look good. Verdict: a feast for the eye, rather than the brain. ** |
