Notes |
Based on NAGAI Go's manga series DEVILMAN LADY. Genre(s): horror, adventure |
Classification | - |
Synopsis | This is a variant of the original Devilman series. Fudo Jun, a quiet and pleasant young woman who works as a model for women's fashion, is approached by a mysterious woman, Amira, who demonstrates to Jun in the most brutally practical fashion that some humans are turning into Demon-beasts and that Jun herself has the power to turn into a demon-beast and destroy them. Amira explains that this is the future evolution of humanity. Some beasts lose their souls and become demons, while others like Jun keep their souls. Amira's secret and evidently quasi-official organisation wants to use Jun to suppress the evolving demons. Jun is naturally horrified at this revelation, and her feelings about the newly revealed beast within are skilfully handled. Jun has a young friend, Kasumi, also a model but still at school, who because of Jun soon becomes a target for demonic attack. |
Review | Somewhat surprisingly, it's just as good as the original. An intriguing and thrilling horror-drama. |
