Synopsis | The story was about a group of adults who still dream of flying into Space with their ethel-airship, set in the Victorian age, in a tiny port town in England (Bristol). The first volume treats from the beginning until everyone decided to build the airship. (CALCI) |
Review | This OAV (part 1) is *very*, *very* beautiful and heartwarming. The nature of the
England was so beautiful, and you can feel the real 'Sense-of-Wonder' of
classic juvenile science fiction. This feel resembles with 'The Wing of Honneamyth',
the classic movie conducted by GAINAX stuff. For production wise, the director of this chapter was Mr. Takashi Anno, who did 'Miracle Girls' and 'Mahou no Star Magical Emi'. I like his style very much, and am very glad to see his beautiful animation again. Highly recommended. Part 2 will be coming out soon. There was one short China san no Yuutsu episode and the former part of 'Shonen Kagaku Club' (Juvenile Science Club) in the first volume and the latter part of Shonen Kagaku Club will be in the 2nd volume. (CALCI) I saw the original "Spirit of Wonder" which came out some years ago, about a Chinese girl living in England, in a sea-port. A charming story. (GC) |
