Synopsis Set within the timespace of the TV series, (between episodes 22 & 23) and on Mars. Our heroes take an interest in the perpetators of a biological-warfare terrorist attack and find they have almost taken on more than they can handle.

Review Our bounty hunter heroes, Spike Spiegel and ex-cop Jet Black, together with mystery woman Faye Valentine and hacker girl Ed, and the super- intelligent corgi Ein, are on the lookout for criminals with bounties on their heads. As usual they're short of money and short on food.
Faye witnesses a terrorist attack in which an exploding tanker truck is used to spread a mystery virus that kills large numbers of people by attacking their brains. Acting independently, Jet and Faye trace the attack to a drugs company which has links to the security forces, but then they both get into big trouble.
The movie is exciting and excellently produced. The chief criticism I'd make of it is that it does not tell us anything fresh about the characters. Also, it is set on Mars, mostly in an urban setting, so it rather wastes the spacegoing possibilities of Cowboy Bebop. Much of the movie looks like it could be on Earth anytime in the 21st Century.
