Review | A very funny slapstick comedy. Not one of my favourites though. It seems to be a rather American sort of humour. (G. C.) Image:Arale I'm savoring each remaining episode of "Dr. Slump" with a certain melancholia. The new "Dr. Slump" show was one of the first anime that my friend in Japan sent to me in 1997, and I have enjoyed it ever since. The series will finish during the last week in September, and already the final "loose ends" are being tied up. The previews for the next episode show that Midori and Senbei's baby son will be born, as well as Gatchan's twin. In the meanwhile, the last couple of shows have added a new "dimension" in physical comedy for the show, in which "boob touching" has become a major plot driver. Thus, this supper time kids show breaks new ground, even as it finishes.(Dave Baranyi) |
