Synopsis | The story of a 14 year old girl falling in love with a 26 year old fashion designer. (HBV) |
Review | I don't really like it, though the original manga (which I've read two or three volumes of) was very popular. Technically, I suppose it's fairly well made, but it just doesn't "ring true," and I think the reason is that all mainstream anime are produced and directed by men, and when they animate a shoujo manga, they do so not from a woman's/girl's point of view, but as men in their thirties and forties (who usually do shounen anime) trying to imagine what might appeal to a teenage girl, and usually failing miserably.
