Synopsis An organisation dedicated to hunting down and neutralising people with unwelcome powers gets a new female recruit.
Review The eponymous Robin arrives alone from abroad in the first episode, somewhat to the discomfiture of the team menbers expecting her. If I reveal that Robin is 15 years old, you'll probably imagine some giggling anime schoolgirl, but nothing like the tall, serious, self-possessed young lady in long dark clothes who actually shows up. Before and after meeting the odd and rather offhand staff menbers in the office, Robin gets some action disposing of malign male "witches".

This anime looks great, and it's totally serious drama, but I found the plots rather leaden. It's the same old supernatural stuff, covering much the same ground as "Hellsing", but lacking that spark that would make me want to see more of WHR.
(GC)

The above was my initial reaction. By the time I watched eight episodes I was having a change of heart, and now consider that this is a stylish and interesting series. It's appeal comes not so much from the supernatural stuff as in the interplay between the various characters. The witch-hunting, from being the focus of the first few episodes, gradually fades from prominence to be replaced by other concerns, and then halfway through the series there is a sudden and disruptive change.
Robin is an interesting heroine who with the help of the others gradually learns to better control her powers. (GC)
